Noyes VFI2 VFL w/2.5mm

Noyes VFI2 - Visual Fault Locator

The Noyes HiLite and VFI 2 are compact but powerful visible red laser sources designed to troubleshoot faults on fibre optic cables. Light generated by these units will escape from sharp bends and breaks in jacketed or bare fibres, as well as poorly mated connectors. They can identify faults in fibre optic jumper cables, distribution frames, patch panels, and splice trays.

The HiLite and VFI 2 are an excellent complement to an OTDR because they can locate faults inside the OTDR’s dead-zone. Other applications include end-to-end continuity checks, identifying connectors in patch panels and fibres during splicing operations.

The universal connector interface provides fast operation with many connector styles without changing an adapters.

Features:

  • 650nm visible red laser source
  • Compact size
  • Universal connector interface for quick connection
  • High power (1mW)

Knowledgebase: Easy-to-use troubleshooting instrument locates and visibly identifies faults on fiber optic cables. The Noyes VFI-2 Visual Fault Identifier features a 650-nm visible red laser source. When a break or sharp bend exists in a fiber, the unit's red light indicates the trouble spot. Designed for use with either multimode or singlemode fiber, this compact yet powerful visual fault identifier has many helpful applications. It locates troubles in fiber optic jumper cables, distribution frames, splice strays, patch panels, cable splice points and tracing fiber runs. A high-power 1-mW light source generated by the VFI-2 escapes from sharp bends and breaks in jacketed or bare fiber and poorly mated connectors. This device features CW and modulated output. It is an excellent complement to an OTDR by locating faults inside its dead-zone. Other applications include end-to-end continuity checks plus the identification of connectors in patch panels and during splicing operations. Includes 2.5-mm universal interface for quick operation with many connector styles without changing adapter. Powered by two AA alkaline batteries for 60 hours of typical use. The 7.06-ounce VFI-2 is 5.5" x 2.4" x 1.3". One-year warranty.
